Leagues: North Yorkshire & South Durham League (1893-1896),York & District Senior League - 1st team (1912), 2nd team (1963). Nidderdale Amateur Cricket League - 3rd Team (1993), Pillmoor Evening League (1971).
The inaugural meeting of the NYSD League was held in the Golden Fleece, Thirsk, on 3rd November 1892. T S Wheater was a player of Thirsk First XI during the formation of the then called “The North Yorkshire Cricket League.”Thirsk Cricket Club attended the meeting back in 1892, and were one of six clubs to gain membership of this league, thus giving them founder member status.
Prior to 1912, both the First and Second teams played in The Thirsk and District Cricket League, there was probably a lower division for the second teams, when the first team became one of the founder members of The York Senior Cricket League in 1912 , they also took the Thirsk League Trophy with them, it is still the York Premier League trophy Today, with the original inscription, A new Thirsk league trophy was bought and first played for in 1912, after the war the league was not reformed, the cup is now in our trophy cabinet, after being found in Mr Lane- Fox’s office in Westgate in 1978 where it had been left for safe keeping during the war years. Thirsk 2nd X1joined The Vale of Mowbray League in 1945 . Current Thirsk CC member Pat Ruecroft played in this competition for the Second XI in 1948, Other league members were, Sowerby, Masham, Northallerton II, Richmond, Catterick, East Harlsey, Bedale II and Aysgarth School. In 1963 the Second XI moved back to join the First XI in the York & District Senior League.
